Side Project Clothing T-Shirt Review

I love this friggin t-shirt. While looking for new digs I came across this site I hadn't seen before, Side Project Clothing. They produce the above t-shirt: "if you use "LOL" in conversation, i will punch you in the face."

As someone who makes punches to the face a regular part of their conversation, I find this t-shirt hilarious.

Douchebags that say LOL in a conversation should in fact be punched in the face. And then maybe the balls. And then maybe pushed down the stairs. Oh, I went too far again.

As for the actual product, they offer it in Medium through XXL sizes of my favorite brand...yes, American Apparel. I sound like a broken record. But hey, the feel and wear of a tshirt definitely matters. I don't want to wear something that feels like cardboard, weighs 10 pounds, or fits me like a trash bag.

Side Project Clothing makes a fun other funny, stylish t-shirts. Hop over to their site to browse. The site is powered by spreadshirt.

Talladega Nights T-Shirt

I think if I had to choose my favorite part of the movie "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby", it might have to be the part where they are all sitting down to dinner and Ricky is praying to the infant Jesus.

Chip: I can't hold my tongue. These kids are my grandchildren and you are raising them wrong. They are *terrible* boys!
Walker: Shut up, Chip, or I'll go ape-shit on your ass!
Texas Ranger: I'm gonna scissor-kick you in the back of the head!
Cal Naughton, Jr.: Yeah!
Ricky Bobby: Yeah! Now turn up the heat!
Cal Naughton, Jr.: Go on and get some, boys!
Ricky Bobby: Come on!
Walker: I'm ten years old, but I'll beat your ass!
Texas Ranger: Chip, I'm gonna come at you like a spider monkey!
Cal Naughton, Jr.: Like a spider monkey! Go on!
Ricky Bobby: Chip, you brought this on, man.
Walker: Greatest Generation my ass. Tom Brokaw's a punk!
Chip: What is wrong with you?
Texas Ranger: Chip, I'm all jacked up on Mountain Dew!

You can preorder this t-shirt from snorgtees.com right now and save a buck or two.

It says on their website that they print on the American Apparel Jersey T which is a great product. Super comfortable and fits very well. If you are a medium in other shirts you should order large. Normally a Large, order the XL. You see where this is going.

As for the actual t-shirt, I'm not huge fan of the graphic they chose. It looks like a monkey is having a seizure or some shit...but the t-shirt saying is pretty damn funny. Ah well, can't get 'em all right.

Anna Nicole T-Shirts

Everyone knows by now. But in case you've been hiding under a rock for the past week, Anna Nicole Smith was found dead in Florida last week.

The crew at Tshirthell.com have hopped on the opportunity and created two tshirts to capitalize on the media frenzy.

If I were to venture a guess why these guys have become so successful, again just a guess, I think part of it could be their quick time to market. Anna is pronounced dead and a day or two later these guys have some professional looking designs available for purchase. A user sees this enough times and they'll begin to expect it...which in turn means more repeat visitors as they will equate Tshirthell.com with the website to buy timely gear.

The tees above are a little too much for me. (a) they are a bit too offensive for me to wear out in public or to the office, and (b) I don't think I want to wear a shirt with Anna Nicole's image on it. But that's just me.

Just the Tip

Ah, the first t-shirt review. I'm loving this.

So the guys over at O.N.S. Outfitters sent me one of their latest products, the "Just the Tip" t-shirt to review. Thanks guys, I'm happy to oblige.

Unlike the "Jesus Hates the Yankees" t-shirt from Busted Tees that I recently discussed, this shirt is printed on the super comfortable American Apparel product. It's light weight, comfortable, and fits very well. I asked for a large and I'm glad I did. At about 5 feet 11 inches and about 170 pounds I'm not a big guy, but the American Apparel shirts are form fitting. The shirt is currently a little loose but I'm sure after one run through the laundry it'll be tighter and fit perfectly.

Now to the actual t-shirt since anyone can buy a case of American Apparel tees and start hawking them as a wholesaler.

As you may be able to tell in the above image, the quality of the tshirt is pretty good. The colors mesh well together. The yellowish colors behind the Just the Tip letters pop nicely in contrast to the brown color of the shirt. The orange colors of the stars and top lettering work nicely with the yellows and browns too. I'm a big fan of the vintage style artwork too...it reminds me of a gameshow from the '70s, or an old school board game.

These guys have opted to put their logo on the back of the t-shirt near the neckline, but it actually looks pretty good. It's not too instrusive and since its in the orange color used on the front of the TV is doesn't pop too much.

To see more of their t-shirts pop on over to www.onenightstandtshirts.com.

Thanks again O.N.S.!

Disappointed by Quality of Jesus Hates the Yankees T-Shirt

Being a Red Sox fan, I was stoked to have this t-shirt given to me as a Christmas gift this year. Opening it up was great and I immediately thought it would become one of my favorite t-shirts.

So I was pretty bummed when I put it on. Not with the quality of the design or the printing. Those are fine. It was the quality of the actual t-shirt they chose to print it on and way it fit.

Busted Tees opted to print this shirt on the Gildan heavyweight cotton t-shirt (you can peep the catalog here). I don't know if they chose to print on this style because it was t-shirt or as a result of that specific color not being available from other vendors. Either way, it was a bad choice. First off, the t-shirt style is a bit too thick. It lacks the comfortability and light style that is found with the American Apparel tees. Second, the sleeves are longer than a normal t-shirt.

So, instead of this becoming my favorite t-shirt with a prime spot in the rotation, it was downgraded to a secondary shirt. What a bummer. Hopefully next time they print on a better quality shirt like American Apparel.

Current T-shirt Deals for this Week

I thought I'd kick things off by sharing the t-shirt offers, sales, discounts, and other deals I've found at some of my favorite stores.

Busted Tees

If you pop over to Bustedtees.com you'll notice they are running a sale on some of their t-shirts. They are all offered for $13,99 "while supplies last". I have a feeling that these are either some of their older designs or some of the tshirts that didn't end up selling too well. Some of them are decent...I particularly like the GILF and New Mexico t-shirt.

O.N.S. Outfitters

One Night Stand Outfitters is running a promotion "20% OFF Purchases of $50 or Greater". From what i can tell this applies to all of their t-shirts which is pretty cool. And since their products are $50 this means 20% off of a 3 t-shirt purchase. Nice.

T-shirt Hell

As part of their effort to increase subscriptions T-shirt Hell is offering free t-shirts to users that sign up with them. Send them your info and you'll be entered into a monthly drawing. The monthly winner gets 2 free t-shirts. These guys have some really funny and offensive t-shirts.

Deez Teez

This company is running a promotion for their users...Buy 3 t-shirts and get the 4th for free. Not bad! Some of their t-shirts are a little gay, but they also have some good ones like Frank The Tank and Vandelay Industries.

Cotton Factory

Visit the site above to view all of the t-shirts on sale at Cotton Factory. Some of them are as low as $10 bucks. That is super cheap.

Noisebot

Get free shipping on orders over $100 at Noisebot. These guys have some great t-shirts and a really cool looking website.
